The 'Walkabout3d' app works by using designs found in Google Sketchups, a program that "lets users create [3D images](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/interactive-mapping-feature) or 'models,' which, in the case of buildings or structures, can then be placed within Google Maps." You can create your own avatar to [explore the conceptual designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/teleport-by-varjo) while still viewing the real world. I can only imagine how much time could be spent exploring conceptual designs all around the world's major cities. The app is out now and is available for the always nice price of free. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.3/10 - Popularity: 15% | Activity: 16% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Mobile](https://www.trendhunter.com/mobile) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Conceptual Architecture Visualization:** Opportunity to develop apps and software that enables users to visualize conceptual architectural designs. - **Virtual Reality Architecture Tours:** Opportunity to create virtual reality experiences that enable users to explore and interact with conceptual architectural designs. - **Augmented Reality Architecture:** Opportunity to develop augmented reality technologies that overlay conceptual architectural designs onto real-world environments. ### Who This Affects Most - **Architecture:** Opportunity for architects to showcase and explore their conceptual designs in a unique and immersive way. - **Software Development:** Opportunity to create software that facilitates the development and visualization of conceptual architectural designs. - **Real Estate:** Opportunity to use concept visualization technology to showcase potential real estate developments to clients and investors. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Virtual City Explorers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/city-explorers.md) - [3D-Rendering VR Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/prospect-irisvr.md) - [City Exploration Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/social-exploration-app.md) - [Augmented Reality Educational Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/augmented-reality-educational-app.md) - [Mobile 3D Scanning Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/realityscan.md) - [AR Home Decor Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/auki-labs-mckenna.md) - [AR 3D Model Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ar-app-for-iphone.md) - [Lego-Centric Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brick-my-world.md) - [Travel-Inspired VR Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/othersight.md)
