# Ergonomic Light Switch Modifications The Walhub Puts Everything Necessary at Hand and Within Reach By Michael Hemsworth | Published 2013-02-07 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/walhub References: [holycool.net](http://www.holycool.net/walhub-functional-switch-plate-with-built-in-storage/) & [kickstarter](http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/justin-porcano/walhub-functional-switch-plates) It might seem like a simplistic concept, but the Walhub is actually one of the most organic designs created when it comes to seamlessly creating a place to put keys or other small essentials. The Walhub actually replaces [standard light switch covers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-switch1) in favor of a more ergonomic design that places hooks adjacent to the switch. Coming in a variety of different styles, the Walhub is a fantastic solution for putting everything into [one place](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modulo-1); gone are the days of needing [separate hooks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/velto). Simply install the Walhub and everything will be perfectly at-hand when leaving or arriving home. What's fantastic, and a personal favorite feature, is that the Walhub even has a space for putting mail, which would come in handy for remembering to post envelopes or for leaving reminder notes. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.2/10 - Popularity: 17% | Activity: 42% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Ergonomic Light Switch Covers:** Opportunity to create more ergonomic light switch covers that seamlessly integrate hooks and storage space for small essentials. - **All-in-one Storage Solutions:** Opportunity to develop innovative designs that provide convenient and organized storage space for keys, mail, and other essentials in one place. - **Functional Home Accessories:** Opportunity to design and create home accessories that combine functionality and aesthetics, such as light switch modifications with built-in storage features. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Home Decor:** Home decor industry can explore the development of ergonomic light switch covers and functional designs that enhance convenience and organization in homes. - **Interior Design:** Interior design industry can incorporate all-in-one storage solutions into their designs to provide functional and stylish storage options for clients. - **Gadget and Home Accessories:** Gadget and home accessories industry can create innovative and functional products like light switch modifications with built-in storage space to cater to consumer needs for convenience and organization. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Low-Cost Smart Light Switches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wyze-switch.md) - [Modular Magnetic Wall Organizers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wall-organizer-concept.md) - [Socket-Concealing Light Switches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/l1-switch-system.md) - [Minimalist Tech-Friendly Valet Boxes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/holme-hadfield-the-hub.md) - [Smart Dial-Style Light Controllers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/philips-hue-tap-switch.md) - [Minimalist Wooden Smart Hubs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/matter-ready-mui-platform.md) - [Vertical Honeycomb Storage Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wall-art-storage-system.md) - [Building Block Wall Organizers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wall-organizer-and-messfree-planter.md) - [Wall-Mounted Umbrella Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/umbrella-1.md)
