The recent update provides greater functionality for the [high-end analogue/digital hybrid](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/phase8), eight-voiced Quantum polyphonic synthesizer. The 2.0 update adds a fifth Kernel oscillator to extend the possible sonic variations for Quantum, while complementing the existing [Wavetable, Waveform, Particle and Resonator oscillators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/electronic-musical-instrument) types. The new Kernel oscillator includes six individual operators, which are essentially six oscillators that can be synthesized for endless sound possibilities. Other additional improvements include a parameter-only mode for the Sequencer, support for USB storage devices, expanded AudioFile Editor, and more. Waldorf's Quantum Synthesizer OS 2.0 update is currently available for product owners as a free download from the company's MyWaldorf accounts page.
