These [stuffed sandwiches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/deep-dish-pizza-pies) are filled with a slew of yummy ingredients from mozzarella cheese to spicy pepperoni slices. These spicy waffle sandwiches are made by cooking up some homemade biscuits in a [waffle maker](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mvp-waffle-tacos). Begin by rolling the biscuit dough into small balls. Then create a pocket inside the dough ball and fill it with a handful of mozzarella cheese and several thinly sliced pieces of pepperoni. Seal the dough ball back up and place it in a hot waffle iron. When you close the waffle iron, the biscuit pizza ball will flatten and cook just like a waffle. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.1/10 - Popularity: 36% | Activity: 49% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Food](https://www.trendhunter.com/food) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Savory Waffle Sandwiches:** Opportunity for businesses to explore and create innovative variations of savory waffle sandwiches using different ingredients and flavors. - **Transformation of Traditional Breakfast Items:** Opportunity for businesses to reimagine and reinvent popular breakfast items, like waffles, into new and unexpected savory dishes. - **Creative Waffle Cooking Techniques:** Opportunity for businesses to develop and market unique cooking techniques for waffles, such as using a waffle iron to create stuffed sandwiches. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Food and Beverage:** Businesses in the food and beverage industry can capitalize on the trend by offering innovative and unique savory waffle sandwich options on their menus. - **Kitchen Appliances and Gadgets:** Opportunity for kitchen appliance manufacturers and gadget suppliers to promote waffle irons and cooking tools that enable consumers to create stuffed pizza waffles at home. - **Food Delivery and Meal Kits:** Meal kit companies and food delivery services can incorporate stuffed pizza waffles as a new meal option, providing convenience and a unique dining experience for customers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Savory-Sweet Waffle Pizzas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/new-chicken-and-waffles-pizza.md) - [Zesty Pickle-Infused Waffles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pickle-waffles.md) - [Grab-and-Go Waffle Sandwiches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spicy-chicken-wafflewich.md) - [Waffle-Topped Chicken Pizzas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chicken-and-eggo-waffles-pizza.md) - [All-Day Waffle Bites](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/waffle-bites.md) - [Chicken-Topped Macaroni Waffles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mac-cheese-waffle-with-hot-honey-chicken.md) - [Stuffed Pancake Appliances](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cucinapro-stuffed-pancake-maker.md) - [Cookie-Stuffed Belgian Waffles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oreo-cookie-crumble-belgian-waffle.md) - [Toaster Waffle Chicken Sandwiches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chicken-waffle-sandwich.md)
