As these are workstation motherboards designed for professional workloads, the W790 PRO motherboards support up to 56 total CPU cores, which is significantly more than any consumer-focused motherboard. In addition to this comprehensive CPU core support, the W790 PRO motherboards boast support for ECC R-DIMM memory chips up to 6800MT/s DDR5 in either eight-channel or four-channel configurations. Additionally, the motherboards featured eight RAM slots, as opposed to the traditional two or four on consumer-focused motherboards, meaning the W790 PRO supports up to 128GB of ultra-fast DDR5 RAM.
