Can’t leave the house without your phone? Do you feel the need to take obnoxious pictures of yourself at any occasion? You’re not alone. The selfie craze on social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook allows us to indulge in our own vanity while not looking overtly self-obsessed -- to a certain extent.

Photographer Emma Summerton adapted this phenomenon of the “selfie” in her latest editorial in W magazine’s March issue.

Shot against a picturesque ,1950s-inspired, suburban background, models Malaika Firth, Riley and Cora Emmanuel all pose with a cellphone in their hands, immersed in their own self-absorption. The editorial cleverly called *“Selfie Absorbed”* is styled by Giovanna Battaglia. The use of a pop art color palette and 1960s-inspired silhouettes makes for a sharp contrast against the shoot’s main accessory, the cell phone.

The editorial allows for the photographer to comment on our vanity and society’s obsession with social media, noting that we are all in fact a little selfie-obsessed.
