The home looks a bit like a [warehouse from the early 20th century](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-casa-mrgt) (or late 19th). It’s got a strong modern base, though, and the effect is intimidating. It doesn’t look like there are a lot of windows, but interior photos show generous amounts of light. There is a [large deck](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chalk-river-house) in addition to the huge living space within the house. The Volga House was photographed by Alexey Knyazev. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.1/10 - Popularity: 86% | Activity: 88% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Modern Warehouse Design:** Opportunity for architects and designers to adopt warehouse aesthetics and incorporate elements into modern residential or commercial buildings. - **Industrial Minimalism:** Opportunity for furniture and home decor industries to create streamlined, minimalistic designs inspired by industrial warehouse interiors. - **Sustainability in Warehouse Construction:** Opportunity for construction and engineering industries to adopt sustainable building practices in the construction of warehouses and similar structures. ### Where This Applies - **Architecture:** Architecture firms can explore designing modern residential and commercial buildings incorporating warehouse aesthetics. - **Furniture and Home Decor:** Furniture and home decor companies can create streamlined, minimalistic designs inspired by industrial warehouse interiors. - **Construction and Engineering:** Construction and engineering companies can adopt sustainable building practices in the construction of warehouses and similar structures. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Converted Industrial Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/1960s-warehouse.md) - [Log Cabin-Inspired Modern Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/balbek-bureau.md) - [Simplistic Timber Warehouses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/halle-s-46.md) - [Anticipatory Architectural Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vulcan-house.md) - [Monolithic Sleek Summer Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vollerup-atrium.md) - [Two-Storey Contemporary Houseboats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/garde-hvalse.md) - [Wavy Concrete Roof-Topped Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vaazh-house.md) - [Monochromatic Minimal Cozy Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vaulted-monochrome-haus.md) - [Sculptural Inverted Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/a-house-with-an-inverted-roof.md)
