# Voice Drawing Virtual Etch-a-Sketch is Controlled by the Modulation of Your Voice By Marissa Brassfield | Published 2009-02-01 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/voice-draw References: [zefrank](http://www.zefrank.com/zesblog/archives/2009/01/want_to_try_som.html) & [zefrank](http://www.zefrank.com/v_draw_beta/index3.html) Here's a fun family activity for a rainy day: Voice drawing. ZeFrank.com has posted a beta voice-controlled drawing tool that taps into your computer's microphone to allow you to draw using the modulation of your voice. It's sort of like a sound-based virtual Etch-a-Sketch. Ze says that a sound at low volume creates a counterclockwise curve, a medium volume sound creates a straight line, and a high volume sound curves clockwise. The images in the gallery are of faces Ze created using his Voice Draw tool. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.8/10 - Popularity: 23% | Activity: 24% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Modern](https://www.trendhunter.com/modern) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Sound-based Drawing:** Companies can create voice-controlled drawing tools for a more interactive user experience in virtual or augmented reality. - **Interactive Entertainment:** There is opportunity for companies to create more interactive family-oriented entertainment using voice-controlled technologies. - **Voice Modulation Technology:** Companies can develop new technologies that enable voice modulation for a range of creative applications. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Entertainment:** Voice drawing has potential to be integrated in theme-park attractions or virtual reality games. - **Education:** Companies can use voice drawing tools to create interactive educational experiences for children, teaching them about art and science. - **Social Media:** Social media platforms can utilize voice-controlled drawing to allow users to create and share their own unique content. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [AI Drawing Games](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sketch-it.md) - [Transformative AI Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/drawings-alive.md) - [No-Code Drawing Design Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hatch-draw.md) - [Voice-Informed Gemstones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/voice-gems.md) - [Custom Coloring Page Generators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dad-cant-draw.md) - [Collaborative Art Platforms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/everyone-draw.md) - [Analog-to-Digital Drawing Toolkits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shaper-trace.md) - [Real-Time AI Voice Changers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/supertone-shift.md) - [AI Drawing Games](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/evined-draw.md)
