The VMK 'Way-C' tablet created by Congolese entrepreneur Verone Mankou is looking to break into the [tablet market](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moto-pad-60-neo) in a big way. As the first African-designed tablet on the market, the Way-C hopes to bring change to the continent's technological backwardness.

Run off of the Android database, the $300 tablet looks to rival the options on the market today. With a [7-inch touch screen](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/huawei-matepad), 800x400 resolution and six-hour battery, the Way-C is highly functional. Since it runs off the Android base, it also has access to [hundreds of thousands of apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/doogee-tab-e3), music and television.

Though arguably it can do as much or less than the main competitors on the market currently, it is a major step for African technology and a great sign for their entrepreneurial sector.
