This application completely obliterates the recognizable features of a [turntable](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/korg), and revamps the interface to be much more user-friendly. The application is used on a [touchscreen device](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-midi-controller), and looks like a mess of colored, geometric shapes without any purpose. When the user begins to mix music, however, it becomes a [music-making machine](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sound-maestro). By dragging one's fingers from circle to circle, tracks can be changed, scratched and skewed for mixing beats. The designers have taken a brand new step with this design, which changes the style of disc jockey music. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.5/10 - Popularity: 41% | Activity: 57% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 90% men, 10% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Touchscreen DJ Apps:** New music production interfaces are being designed for touchscreen devices. - **User-friendly Interfaces:** Designers are creating interfaces that are less intimidating for novice DJs. - **Reinventing Music-making:** New applications are changing the way DJs create and mix music. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Music Technology:** New software and hardware solutions that simplify or reinvent the art of DJing can provide new opportunities for music tech companies. - **Mobile Apps:** As touchscreen devices become more powerful, app developers can create more sophisticated music-making solutions for on-the-go DJs. - **Education and Training:** The development of user-friendly DJ apps could potentially create new markets in DJ education and training. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Ring-Style DJ Gear](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tuno-1.md) - [Cyberpunk DJ Console Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/midi-controller-concept.md) - [Retro-Futuristic DJ Consoles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/opj-dj-console.md) - [Standalone DJ Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rane-system-one.md) - [AI-Fueled Music Mixer Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/happy-music-mixer-07.md) - [Tactile Interactive Music Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/yamaha.md) - [Music Mashups Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mashapp-music.md) - [Modular DJ Consoles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/twin-dj.md) - [Interchangeable Component DJ Decks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modular-dj-controller.md)
