The Vivo X5Max is a 4.75-mm thick smartphone, developed by Chinese smartphone maker Vivo, that has taken the title of the [world's thinnest smartphone](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/edge-70). In addition to its scarcely believable thin structure, it also features a [solid stainless steel construction](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/huawei-mate-x6) and top-quality internal components.

The X5Max may be slim but it's not miniscule, and comes with a [5.5-inch 1,920 x 1,090 display](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lava-blaze-amoled-2) with 400 pixels per inch. Its custom Android skin looks an awful lot like the iOS 8 and includes special quick settings that can be launched from swiping up from the bottom of the screen -- as is the case with iOS -- rather than swiping down from the top Android-style.

The Vivo X5Max is scheduled for release December 12, 2014 and will retail for about $486.
