# Cricket Bat-Shaped Vacuums The Vivacuum for Blind Makes Cleaning Chores More Manageable By Meghan Young | Published 2013-01-31 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vivacuum-for-blind References: [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/2013/01/30/vivacuum-varooomm/) Just because the [visually impaired](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vision-bone-conduction-headset) can't see very well doesn't mean that they can't perform everyday chores such as cleaning up the house, they simply need tools that address their limitations; that is exactly what the Vivacuum for Blind does. It is a special [vacuum that makes sucking up dirt](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aero-cordless-vacuum-cleaner) much more easy and transparent for blind individuals. Designed by Namsun Do, the Vivacuum for Blind is equipped with a sensor that detects objects and alerts the user through vibrations. The addition of an oscillator and switch-bar allow the user to manually control the strength of the suction to ensure the objects are cleaned properly. The presence of a [braille steel wheel](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vembi-hexis) and a detachable dust canister also makes using the Vivacuum for Blind much more manageable. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.5/10 - Popularity: 17% | Activity: 19% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Sensor-enabled Cleaning Tools:** Creating cleaning tools with sensors that detect objects and provide feedback for visually impaired individuals. - **Assistive Technology for Daily Chores:** Developing specialized technology to help visually impaired individuals manage everyday tasks more independently. - **Accessible Design for Household Appliances:** Designing household appliances with inclusive features like braille indicators and manual controls for people with visual impairments. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Home Cleaning Appliances:** Opportunity for home cleaning appliance manufacturers to incorporate sensor technology and accessible design into their products. - **Assistive Technology:** Innovation potential in the field of assistive technology to create more specialized tools for visually impaired individuals. - **Inclusive Design and Accessibility:** Industries, including technology and home appliances, can focus on developing products with inclusive features for people with disabilities. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Decor-Inspired Vacuums](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/handheld-vacuum-concept.md) - [Motorized Cordless Vacuums](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blitz-v8.md) - [Accessible Home Device Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/accessble-home-device.md) - [Curved Vacuum Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/qrevo-curvx.md) - [Braille-Covered Electric Guitars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vitar-guitar.md) - [Digital Visualized Feedback Instruments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vibra-instrument.md) - [Cubic Handheld Vacuum Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dust-box-vacuum-cleaner.md) - [Window Vacuum Cleaner Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aria-concept.md) - [Clear Home Cleaning Assistants](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/transparent-robot-vacuum.md)
