# Two-Tier Sinks The VitrA Family Basin is Fit for Use by Kids and Cleaning Your Feet By Amelia Roblin | Published 2013-01-22 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vitra-family-basin References: [trendir](http://www.trendir.com/archives/006564.html) & [usa.vitra.tr](http://usa.vitra.com.tr/?ref=change_country) You might first wonder what useful function the [VitrA](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/liquid-bathroom) Family Basin could serve, say, once your toddlers grow up and can reach the full-height sink. But just think about it, there are several hygienic activities that would be most efficiently carried out with some fixture that's [neither sink nor bathtub](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ikea-bsingen). Clearly there is a benefit to having this sort of setup with [young children around](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/studio-eggi), making it easy for them to learn cleanliness more independently in the washroom. Just 40 centimeters from the floor, the shorter basin is connected to the standard 85-centimeter one with a continuous Z-shaped form in porcelain. Pull a stool up to the lower part and you'll discover a convenient way to wash your feet and even to shave your legs. The VitrA Family Basin is compact enough not to overpower a smaller bathroom and cleverly integrates a shelf beneath for the storage of towels. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.5/10 - Popularity: 19% | Activity: 17% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Hygienic Independence:** The VitrA Family Basin caters to young children and promotes cleanliness independence in the washroom. - **Multi-functional Fixtures:** The continuous Z-shaped design of the VitrA Family Basin creates opportunities for activities like washing feet and shaving legs. - **Space-saving Solutions:** The compact size of the VitrA Family Basin makes it suitable for smaller bathrooms, while also providing a convenient shelf for towel storage. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Bathroom Fixtures:** The VitrA Family Basin introduces innovative design concepts that enhance functionality in the bathroom. - **Childcare/parenting:** The VitrA Family Basin addresses the specific needs of young children, offering solutions for teaching cleanliness. - **Home Organization:** The integrated shelf in the VitrA Family Basin contributes to a more organized bathroom space. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Dual-Use Ceramic Basins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/luneup.md) - [Angular Ceramic Sink Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/angle-washbasin.md) - [Collaborative Seashell-Like Sinks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spire-washbasin.md) - [Elegant Kitchen Sink Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kitchen-sink-system.md) - [Ergonomic Kitchen Dishwashers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fotile-x20-max.md) - [Textural Bathroom Sink Basins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/washbasin-collection.md) - [Ultra-Modern Freestanding Sinks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/freestanding-sink.md) - [Kids Modern Step Stool](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/totto-step.md) - [Marble Slab Washbasins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/piano-washbasin.md)
