# Stylish Airport Seating These Vitra Chairs Will Ensure Travelers Stay in Their Seats By Jason Soy | Published 2011-05-29 | World Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vitra-chairs References: [chairblog.eu](http://www.chairblog.eu/2011/05/26/waiting-in-airports-on-vitra-chairs/) & [facebook](http://www.facebook.com/vitra) Many airports around the world are as stylish and spectacular as their city's sights, which isn't surprising considering that the majority of them have these Vitra chairs as their seating. Seen here is a collection of Vitra chairs used in various airports around the world. You can check out some stylish, futuristic laptoplike black seats in Munich or rows of shopping cart-inspired wirework chairs in London. A personal favorite of mine, however, are the yellow cushioned seats found in Dubai. They just exude style and seem comfortable to boot. If every airport was outfitted with these Vitra chairs, flight delays and check-ins would probably be more pleasurable since people could take the time allotted to enjoy the various technical and design marvels that airport chairs have to offer. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.3/10 - Popularity: 43% | Activity: 17% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [World](https://www.trendhunter.com/world) > [Travel](https://www.trendhunter.com/travel) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Stylish Airport Seating:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Designing airport seating with a focus on style and comfort for a more pleasant travel experience. - **Futuristic Laptoplike Black Seats:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Introducing sleek and modern laptop-inspired seating designs in various public spaces beyond airports. - **Shopping Cart-inspired Wirework Chairs:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Creating unique and visually appealing seating designs inspired by everyday objects to enhance the aesthetic of public spaces. ### Who This Affects Most - **Aviation:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Incorporating stylish and comfortable seating options in airplanes to uplift the overall in-flight experience. - **Furniture:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Developing innovative seating solutions with a focus on style, comfort, and flexibility for various public settings. - **Hospitality:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Integrating aesthetically pleasing and comfortable seating options in hotels, resorts, and other hospitality establishments to enhance guest experiences. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Airport Lounge Seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wood-islands.md) - [High-Performance Travel Seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/departures-seating.md) - [Recycled Seating Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/atlanta-airport-chairs.md) - [Space Travel-Inspired Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aerospace-seat-spn01.md) - [Relaxing Airplane Seat Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tranquil-airlines-seating-technology.md) - [Suitcase Sheet Metal Seats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/neoprimitive-chair.md) - [Airplane-Friendly Wheelchairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/airchair-wheelchair.md) - [Stainless Steel Reflective Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dream-view-chair.md) - [Swivelling Marbled Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/landmark-project.md)
