Originally popularized by a New York bakery, the cakes feature layered sponge, [smooth frosting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/party-rings), and crunchy toppings that create satisfying textures when scraped with a spoon. The limited-edition collection includes Raspberry & Vanilla Dot Cake, featuring raspberry jam and colorful sugar decorations, and Chocolate & Salted Caramel Dot Cake, topped with crispy chocolate balls. Both varieties cost £2.50 and will remain available for six weeks, making the previously online-focused dessert trend more accessible to shoppers. For Co-op, the launch creates opportunities to attract customers interested in trending desserts and visually appealing treats. By translating a [popular social media concept](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dubai-style-chocolate-bar) into supermarket products, the retailer can encourage purchases while responding to changing consumer preferences.
