Revered as one of the toughest classical instruments to master, there haven't been many changes to violin designs in recent times. But MONAD Studio partners Veronica Zalcberg and Eric Goldemberg are aiming to change this going forward. With a focus on "spatial perception related to rhythmic affect," the design duo created a dynamic 3D-printed violin with help from musician Scott F. Hall. The two-string violin is custom-designed to play specific tones that are carried through a gorgeous sci-fi form.

Alongside a monobarasitar, a cello, a didgeridoo and a hornucopia, this violin design will be on display and perform as part of the MULTI installation at the upcoming 3D Print Design Show in New York City.
