With an exterior that recalls what one might find in their grandparents' homes, the speaker has mechanics that resemble something with a much more up-to-date design—wireless speakers entitled 'The Three' and 'The One,' which use Google Assistant technology with a built-in microphone function. To date back to its vintage old-school look, the speakers are designed to have a wooden outer layer with dark woven grills. The Three is a larger speaker that also has a subwoofer installed. The One, on the other hand, comes with a "semi-portable" speaker that features a rechargeable battery. Without wires, these vintage smart speakers run on Wi-Fi with Bluetooth, which opens opportunity for them to be integrated with [Chromecast](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/braun-audio-le-series). With the Google Assistant feature, the speakers allow users to run [Spotify](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ruark-r140-sound-system) for music demands and other home functions. The Three will be available in Fall of 2018, whereas The One will be available later in Spring 2019. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.3/10 - Popularity: 86% | Activity: 65% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Vintage Smart Speakers:** The vintage look paired with modern technology presents an opportunity for the smart speaker market to cater to consumers seeking a nostalgic aesthetic. - **Integration of Google Assistant:** The use of Google Assistant technology allows for seamless voice control and opens up possibilities for integrating the speakers with other smart home devices. - **Wireless and Portable Speakers:** The wireless and portable features of these vintage smart speakers provide convenience and flexibility for users on the go. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Audio Technology:** The audio technology industry can capitalize on the demand for vintage-inspired smart speakers that combine nostalgic design with modern functionality. - **Smart Home:** The smart home industry can explore opportunities to integrate these vintage smart speakers with other smart home devices, creating a cohesive and effortless connected home experience. - **Streaming and Entertainment:** The streaming and entertainment industry can benefit from the seamless integration of music streaming services like Spotify with these smart speakers, offering users a convenient and immersive audio experience. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Powerful Vintage-Inspired Stereo Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/klipsch.md) - [Wireless Timeless Retro Speakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/authentics-series.md) - [Midcentury Modern Speaker Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/klipsch-heritage-wireless.md) - [Retro-Styled Assistant Speakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jbl-authentics.md) - [Retro-Style Portable Speakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/victrola-music-edition.md) - [Advanced Anniversary Speakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/klipsch-speakers.md) - [Vintage-Inspired Bluetooth Speakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hepburn-voice.md) - [Midcentury Modern Streaming Speakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cambridge-audio-evo-one.md) - [Modernized Retro Speakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-memory.md)
