The camper was designed by Glenn Wills and Christine Bree, who wanted a minimalist camper that would be quick and easy to transport. Unlike larger campers and [luxury RVs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lume-caravan), the Gidget Retro Teardrop Camper is designed for utility rather than comfort. The vintage camper contains a small pod that slides out into a queen-sized bed for sleeping. It also contains basic features such as a small solar panel, a gas cooktop and a security alarm system. The camper is lightweight and extremely compact, making it easy to tow behind any vehicle. While it doesn't provide the same amenities as a larger RV, the Gidget Retro Teardrop Camper is the perfect way to truly enjoy the outdoors in comfort and style. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.2/10 - Popularity: 92% | Activity: 87% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Autos](https://www.trendhunter.com/autos) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Retro Travel Trailers:** Opportunities for designing more compact, lightweight, and aesthetically pleasing travel trailers with basic amenities that meet the needs of minimalist campers. - **Minimalist Camping:** Opportunities for tapping into the growing trend of minimalist camping by offering camping gear and equipment that are easy to transport and use. - **Compact Outdoor Living:** Opportunities for innovation in manufacturing small and portable outdoor living solutions for people who want to spend more time outside in a comfortable setting. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Recreational Vehicles:** RV manufacturers can implement retro designs and compact structures with basic amenities that offer an alternative option to luxury RVs. - **Outdoor Gear:** The demand for minimalist camping gear and equipment is growing and presents opportunities for innovation in designing and manufacturing such gear. - **Home Furnishings:** There is an opportunity for home furnishing companies to create compact and lightweight furniture and living solutions for outdoor living enthusiasts. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Capaciously Compact Teardrop Trailers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/teardrop-trailer251.md) - [Retro RV-Inspired Camping Trailers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/trailpod-camping-trailers.md) - [Retro-Style Camping Trailers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/type-2-campers-t23.md) - [Bubbly Camping Trailers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bubbly-camping-trailers.md) - [Origami-Like Camping Trailers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/forma-campers.md) - [Foldout Kitchen Camping Trailers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/drop-campers-dropy.md) - [Retro-Style Pop-Up Camper Vans](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/citron-type-holidays.md) - [Minimalist Modular Camping Trailers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cedar-ridge-campers-deneb.md) - [Off-Road Sleek Campers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-scamp-x.md)
