Designed as a young family's home-away-from-home, this [weekend home](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hors) is located in the heart of Sjælland, Denmark. This modernized summer home takes design inspiration from traditional cabin construction and replaces recycled wood logs with sleek and streamlined materials combinations of wood, glass, steel and drywall. This spacious abode is designed with sustainability in mind thanks to multiple sky-lights and windows that bathe its interior with plenty of natural light. The Village House by Powerhouse Company is made up of a cluster of five wings, each resembling miniature cabins. The wings fan out at different angles and resemble a hand when observed at an areal view. Designed with a growing family in mind, this roomy summer home features large communal areas as well as private areas that can be inhabited by children when they grow older. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.3/10 - Popularity: 71% | Activity: 50% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Contemporary Countryside Homes:** Modernized homes designed for countryside living that combine sustainability and sleek materials to provide comfort and style to residents. - **Reimagined Traditional Design:** Designers taking inspiration from traditional construction and materials and updated for contemporary living, providing unique and stylish homes for modern families. - **Sustainable Home Design:** Homes being designed with a focus on sustainability and energy-efficiency, reducing costs and environmental impact while providing modern, beautiful living spaces. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Real Estate Development:** Developers can utilize traditional design elements updated with contemporary materials and sustainable design to create unique, stylish homes that appeal to modern families looking for a unique rural lifestyle. - **Green Building Materials:** Companies that specialize in eco-friendly materials can provide materials to designers and builders looking to create sustainable homes with materials such as wood, glass, and steel that are visually appealing and energy-efficient. - **Architecture:** Architects can help clients create unique, sustainable designs that utilize traditional materials and contemporary design, creating beautiful homes that meet the needs of modern families while honoring traditional building techniques. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Relaxing Wooden Holiday Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/heatherhill-beach-house.md) - [Monolithic Sleek Summer Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vollerup-atrium.md) - [Scandinavian Barn Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-comet.md) - [Modern Danish Restoration](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vejrhj-house.md) - [Nature-Rooted Family Retreats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/haus-am-lagnesberg.md) - [Old Mill-Transformed Modern Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/new-house-with-old-mill.md) - [Modern Vietnamese Dwellings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tien-giang-house.md) - [Sustainable Country Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/three-oaks-farm.md) - [Rural Charred Modern Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stanfordville-house.md)
