This delightful dwelling can be found in the Netherlands and resembles its predecessors in numerous ways, but stands out thanks to a number of contemporary characteristics. Encased in expansive [curtain wall glass windowing](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/glass-brick-house), the Villa Geldrop by Hofman Dujardin becomes a bit of a fishbowl abode. A rectangular window punching out from the [pitched roof](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dutch-barnhouse) reveals a design willing to build on the framework of the past. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.1/10 - Popularity: 90% | Activity: 86% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Expansive Curtain Wall Glass Windowing:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the glass manufacturing industry to create new and improved technologies for larger, more sustainable curtain wall systems. - **Redefinition of the Bungalow:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the architectural industry to create new designs and features that breathe new life into the traditional concept of the bungalow. - **Incorporation of Contemporary Characteristics:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the construction industry to develop new building techniques and materials that seamlessly blend modern architectural features with traditional designs. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Glass Manufacturing:** Glass manufacturers have an opportunity to innovate by developing technologies that enable the creation of larger, more energy-efficient curtain wall systems. - **Architecture:** Architects can disrupt the industry by redefining the concept of the bungalow and incorporating contemporary characteristics to create unique and modern living spaces. - **Construction:** The construction industry can embrace disruptive innovation by exploring new building techniques and materials that combine traditional and modern architectural elements in a seamless manner. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Forest-Enclosed Villa Extensions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bd-house.md) - [Transformed Colorful Holiday Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gdr-bungalow.md) - [Renovated Historic Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/danil.md) - [Bamboo-Clad Residential Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/open-park-villa.md) - [Blocky Extended Transformed Bunaglows](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/osullivan-skoufoglou-architects.md) - [Garden-Nestled Luscious Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hidden-villa.md) - [Extended Timber-Clad Home Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/villa-vd.md) - [Extended Refurbished Bungalows](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stones-throw.md) - [Sustainable Semi-Detached Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/villa-residu.md)
