Viewpoint, designed by a trio of Finnish architects, is exactly what its name suggests. The [floating structure](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aquapraa) allows those who have grown weary of the city a chance to relax in nature, and is a prime spot for [viewing wildlife](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nature-traffic-control-tower). AOR drew inspiration for the design of Viewpoint from Laavus, [primitive shelters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vert-installation) made using found materials that Finns would create on hunting or fishing trips to escape the weather. The structure that sits on the water of Regents Canal is a bit more refined and is built with wood and concrete as opposed to branches. Viewpoint from AOR is set to open to the public on February 10. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.8/10 - Popularity: 14% | Activity: 31% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Life](https://www.trendhunter.com/life) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Floating Nature Structures:** The design and construction of floating structures that provide city dwellers with a natural escape, such as Viewpoint from AOR, present opportunities for innovative architecture and outdoor leisure experiences. - **Urban Wildlife Observation:** Creating dedicated urban spaces, like Viewpoint at Camley Street Natural Park, for observing wildlife within cities opens up possibilities for nature-based tourism and ecological education. - **Nature-inspired Design:** Taking inspiration from natural structures like Laavus, as seen in the design of Viewpoint from AOR, sparks opportunities for incorporating organic aesthetics and sustainable materials in architectural projects. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Architecture:** The architectural industry can explore innovative ways to design and build floating nature structures that provide urban dwellers with serene escapes, as demonstrated by Viewpoint from AOR. - **Tourism:** The tourism industry can leverage urban wildlife observation spaces, such as Viewpoint at Camley Street Natural Park, to attract nature enthusiasts and offer unique experiences in bustling cities. - **Ecological Education:** The field of ecological education can utilize dedicated urban wildlife observation spots, like Viewpoint from AOR, to educate visitors about local ecosystems and promote environmental awareness. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Lighweight Birdwarching Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-roost.md) - [Floating Creek Pavilion](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-roost-1.md) - [Nature Hyperboloid Observation Towers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/observation-tower-krven.md) - [Minimal Bird-Watching Cabins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hide-cabin.md) - [Timber Nature Reserve Towers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-lookout-tower.md) - [Bat-Friendly Forested Watchtowers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/watchtower-einderheide.md) - [Mountain-Top Lookout Towers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/guard-patrol.md) - [Upcoming Architectural Floating Parks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/centroparco.md) - [Nature-Shared A-Frame Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kumiki-architects.md)
