# Victorian Warehouse Residences This Shoreditch Residence is a Unique Combination of Styles By Vasiliki Marapas | Published 2014-10-20 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/victorian-warehouse References: [highsnobiety](http://www.highsnobiety.com/2014/10/18/renovated-shoreditch-warehouse-by-chris-dyson-architects/) & [chrisdyson](http://www.chrisdyson.co.uk/) Chris Dyson Architects transformed a Victorian warehouse into a contemporary residence in the Shoreditch neighborhood of London, England. The architects retained several of the "warehouse" features, such as concrete floors and painted brick walls, giving the finished residence an industrial aesthetic. Inside, the space has been decorated with baroque furniture, as well as more modern offerings, creating a unique mix. The Shoreditch residence is, ultimately, a great balancing act, offering sleek modernity and antiquated qualities within the same space. An internal courtyard offers the homeowners a place of tranquility and calm in which they can escape the fast-paced lifestyle of London. Again, this shows the home's extreme versatility and functionality in both its design and decoration. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.3/10 - Popularity: 74% | Activity: 46% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Industrial-chic Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop innovative ways to incorporate industrial elements into residential spaces, creating a unique aesthetic. - **Mixing Old and New:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create new design concepts that seamlessly combine traditional and modern styles, offering a fresh take on interior design. - **Versatile Living Spaces:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Design flexible spaces that can adapt to the fast-paced and dynamic lifestyle of urban dwellers. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Architecture and Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore new materials and techniques to create innovative and sustainable residential structures. - **Furniture and Home Decor:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop furniture and decor pieces that blend different styles, catering to the growing demand for eclectic design. - **Urban Living Solutions:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Provide innovative solutions for urban living, such as incorporating green spaces and creating serene environments within bustling cities. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Refurbished London Victorian Townhomes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/br-house.md) - [Bespoke London Victorian Terraces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ray-house.md) - [Contemporary Home Extensions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bureau-de-change-2.md) - [Split-Level Warehouse Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kerr.md) - [Madrid Warehouse Conversions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/burr-studio.md) - [Reimagined Edwardian Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gunter-and-co.md) - [Victorian-Inspired London Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lee-terrace.md) - [Dining-Inspired Bright Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/holloway-li-1.md) - [Craftsmanship-Based Home Extensions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ray-house-extension.md)
