London-based Scott Architects added a [curvaceous timber extension](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/drpa) to the 'De Beauvoir House,' a [19-century Victorian home](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lee-terrace) featuring a picturesque terrace. The architects made sure that the home stayed in conversation with its natural surroundings, fashioning the extension out of oak and adorning it with a [plant-covered rooftop](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hope-villa). Jezz Scott, one half of the architect duo, explained, "The forms at the back of the building were designed to connect with the garden as much as possible."

The renovations also included a larger kitchen, larger dining area and extra bedroom. The kitchen features a skylight, partition wall and double-height timber. The rest of the interior is comprised of limestone and restored Baltic pine flooring and exposed brick walls.

The finished product offers a fluid, sculptural aesthetic that adds a contemporary vibe to an otherwise old-world home.
