# Layered Geometric Landscapes Graphic Designer Victoria Siemer Captures Angular Scenes By Jordy E | Published 2014-04-09 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/victoria-siemer References: [mymodernmet](http://www.mymodernmet.com/profiles/blogs/victoria-siemer-witchoria-photomanipulations) & [witchoria](http://witchoria.com/) Graphic designer Victoria Siemer's collection of [abstract geometric landscapes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mathematically-shaped) portray highly emotional depictions of forests, skies and distant mountains. The Brooklyn-based artist has done so by way of dark monochromatic images, the most colorful of which showcase dark pops of green and navy blue. Placed directly upon each of Siemer's portraits are sharp shapes, seen in chunky squares and rectangles. Each one of these shapes features the natural settings inset, though they have been jumbled with upside down and sideways frames. Together, these topsy turvy angular frames enable the pieces to convey depth and altered perspectives. Viewers in turn take in the scenes from unusual points of view that would otherwise be missed if it weren't for [superimposed shapes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ripples-collection). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.2/10 - Popularity: 17% | Activity: 10% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Customization](https://www.trendhunter.com/customization) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Abstract Geometric Landscapes:** Opportunity for creating unique and emotionally impactful visual designs by combining abstract geometric shapes with natural scenery. - **Monochromatic Imagery:** Potential for using dark monochromatic images to create a mood and highlight specific elements in designs. - **Altered Perspectives:** Disruptive innovation opportunity to explore new ways of presenting scenes by using upside down and sideways frames. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Graphic Design:** Incorporate abstract geometric landscapes into graphic design projects to create visually striking and emotionally engaging visuals. - **Art and Photography:** Explore the use of monochromatic images and altered perspectives to push the boundaries of traditional art and photography techniques. - **Advertising and Marketing:** Utilize abstract geometric landscapes and altered perspectives to create attention-grabbing visuals for marketing campaigns and advertisements. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Paper Curvature Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paper-curves.md) - [AI-Generated Real-World Transformations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ai-generated-world.md) - [Geometric Wooden Art Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aleph-geddis.md) - [Hand-Painted Watercolor Prints](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/emma-webster.md) - [Digital City-Inspired Art Works](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grand-central-station.md) - [Colorful Geometric Ceramic Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/barva-vases.md) - [Illusion-Inspired Design Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ripples-collection.md) - [Blooming Clustered Art Forms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/structural-botany.md) - [Material-Accented Dreamscape Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dreamscape-exhibit.md)
