Sometimes you start off with a place that you decorate and modify until your family grows out of it. The solution to this problem is either to sell and move on, or to have new additions designed and built into your home. Australian architecture team Rolf Ockert Design completed a [geometrically vibrant extension](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/octagon-house) to a heritage in Sydney. The project is called 46 North Avenue and provides "additional living space for a young family with children." The designers built a [two-storey addition](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/henville-street-house) and made it so unique with cool geometric designs and colors. The backyard has an adorable little dining area that views the interiors. Through a wall-sized open entrance, the living room area and kitchen are visible. The upper level makes the home look even more spacious with wide rooms, a lot of natural lighting and a modern staircase. This [Australian home](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ysg) is gorgeous, functional and suitable for a small family and it has a lot of flair with the bright colored details that flow through the home. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.4/10 - Popularity: 90% | Activity: 65% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Geometric Design:** There is a growing trend in using geometric designs in home extensions, creating visually stunning living spaces. - **Colorful Interiors:** The use of vibrant colors in home design is becoming a popular trend, adding personality and flair to living spaces. - **Functional Additions:** There is an increasing demand for well-designed and functional home additions that provide additional living space for growing families. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Architecture:** Architects can explore new opportunities in designing geometrically vibrant home extensions that showcase unique and visually appealing designs. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can leverage the trend of using colorful interiors to create unique and personalized living spaces for their clients. - **Construction:** Builders and contractors can capitalize on the demand for functional home additions by offering innovative and efficient construction solutions. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Flexible Family Spaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/a-simple-addition.md) - [Geometric Colorful Residential Spaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/graphic-house.md) - [Timber-Clad Home Extensions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/thornbury-house.md) - [Vibrant London Home Extensions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/park-house.md) - [Caribbean-Inspired Retro Home Extentions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/triangle-house-1.md) - [Bright Family Renovation](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cobble-hill-townhouse.md) - [Tranquil Subdued House Extensions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/heliotrope-architects.md) - [Charming Home Renovation Projects](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/works-office.md) - [Mid-Century Home Modern Extensions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/seventies-house.md)
