# Vibrant Basketball Courts This Multicoloured Basketball Court is Hidden By Huge Buildings in Paris By Ady Floyd | Published 2015-08-14 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vibrant-basketball-courts-this-multicoloured-basketball-court-is-hidden-by- References: [dezeen](http://www.dezeen.com/2015/08/12/pigalle-duperre-ill-studio-paris-basketball-court-multicoloured-installation/) & [pigalle-paris](http://www.pigalle-paris.com/) Ill-Studio collaborated with fashion brand Pigalle to create this [colorful sports arena](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/huachiao-vibrant-sports-park) that completely alters the aesthetics of traditional basketball courts. This [multi-colored basketball court](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ballers-sports-venue) is comprised of primary colors that differentiate sections of the arena. Using red, blue and yellow colored shapes to outline the court is a clever way to incorporate logical and playful aesthetics. While the court resembles something from a [cartoon show](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rick-and-morty-basketball), it provides an explosive color display among the traditionally concrete buildings. The inspiration for the boldly colored arena came from Russian artist Kasimir Malevich's 1930s artwork titled Sportsmen. The ultimate goal for this court was to recreate the loud colors displayed in the sports-oriented oil painting. The entire court is made of ethylene propylene diene monome rubber, which is a durable material that is often used for playgrounds or sports areas. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.3/10 - Popularity: 1% | Activity: 1% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Colorful Sports Arenas:** Creating vibrant basketball courts that completely alter the aesthetics of traditional sports arenas. - **Playful Aesthetics:** Incorporating logical and playful aesthetics in sports court design through the use of red, blue, and yellow colored shapes. - **Art-inspired Courts:** Drawing inspiration from famous artworks to recreate bold and explosive color displays on basketball courts. ### Who This Affects Most - **Fashion and Sports Collaboration:** Collaborating with fashion brands to create unique and visually striking sports arenas. - **Rubber Flooring Industry:** Utilizing durable materials like ethylene propylene diene monomer rubber for playgrounds, sports areas, and vibrant basketball courts. - **Sports Facility Design:** Innovating sports facility design by transforming traditional concrete structures into visually captivating and energizing spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Museum-Run Basketball Courts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/museumrun-basketball-court.md) - [Empowering Artful Basketball Courts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/na-chainkua-reindorf.md) - [Flood-Smart Basketball Courts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grain-collective.md) - [Artist-Inspired Dynamic Basketballs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/round21.md) - [Reflective Ping-Pong Parlour Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/match-point-installation.md) - [Artfully Crafted Basketball Games](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/home-court-1.md) - [Female-Focused Sports Initiatives](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/led-basketball-court.md) - [Colorful Municipal Recreational Facilities](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vibrant-sports-park.md) - [Bright Playful Sport Playgrounds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-and-nike.md)
