What separates the Viago from services like Google Maps is the fact that it can be [customized via optional in-app purchases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/navigation-solution). The Viago app offers a variety of features such as turn-by-turn navigation and [multi-stop route planning](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/google-maps-extended-routes). Its interface is capable of displaying current speed as well as the speed limit, and even has a special 'lane assist' feature that alerts you when it's time to think about switching lanes before an upcoming turn. The Viago even permits users to access a three-day weather forecast for their destination. The app is compatible with iOS as well as Android devices. One of the highlights of Viago's optional premium add-ons is Garmin Real Directions, a service that offers highly intuitive voice-guided navigation using landmarks, stop signs and traffic lights as markers, rather than street names. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.2/10 - Popularity: 27% | Activity: 61% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Customizable Mapping Apps:** Opportunity for map apps to offer customization options through in-app purchases. - **Advanced Navigation Features:** Opportunity to develop map apps with features like lane assist and speed limit display. - **Intuitive Voice-guided Navigation:** Opportunity for map apps to provide highly intuitive voice-guided navigation based on landmarks and traffic lights. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **GPS Technology:** Disruptive innovation opportunity to create customizable map apps with advanced navigation features for GPS technology companies. - **Mobile App Development:** Opportunity to develop customizable and advanced map apps with intuitive voice-guided navigation for mobile app development companies. - **Automotive Technology:** Disruptive innovation opportunity to integrate customizable map apps with advanced navigation features into automotive technology. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Updated Map-Navigation Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/waze-app-1.md) - [Aftermarket Automotive Navigation Displays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/garmin-drive-53.md) - [Interactive Travel Map Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/proxi-travel-app.md) - [AI Navigation Upgrades](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tmap-mobility.md) - [Turn-By-Turn Truck Navigation Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/autosled.md) - [Oversized RV Navigation Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/garmin-rv-8951095-navigators.md) - [In-App Retail Expansions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/connect-iq-store.md) - [Travel-Focused Audio Guide Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/catalogue-of-audio-guides.md) - [Travel Journal Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/travel-journal-apps.md)
