The spun aluminum coffee table has a glass top. The base has two sheets that work together as a container to display objects. The Vessel Table also has painted figures on it that resemble people walking around. Photographed by James Champion, the table also looks like a wide and shallow vase or decorative ice rink in addition to a display table. Based out of London, freelance designer Jonathan Lane-Smith focuses on simple geometry and mixing materials in his furniture. He also designs lighting and homeware. Since 2013 he has worked out of his own studio. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.7/10 - Popularity: 6% | Activity: 7% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Figurine-incorporating Furniture:** Opportunity for furniture designers to create unique pieces that incorporate figurines for added visual appeal and personalization. - **Mixed Material Designs:** The trend of combining different materials in furniture design opens up opportunities for innovative and visually striking creations. - **Interactive Display Furniture:** The demand for furniture that not only serves its functional purpose but also offers an interactive and visually captivating display potential creates opportunities for designers to create immersive experiences. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunities for furniture designers to create unique, conversation-starting pieces that push the boundaries of traditional designs. - **Interior Decor:** The trend of incorporating figurines and mixed materials in furniture opens up disruptive innovation opportunities for interior decor professionals to curate visually stunning spaces with personalized touches. - **Art and Collectibles:** The concept of figurine-incorporating vitrines presents disruptive innovation opportunities for artists and collectors to display their collections in a more engaging and visually appealing manner. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Fluid Topographic Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dune-table.md) - [Harmonious Helical Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vortex-coffee-table.md) - [Japandi-Style Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cloth-coffee-table.md) - [Artful Coffee Table Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vertushka.md) - [Ultra-Minimalist Metallic Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/whisk.md) - [Glass Geometry Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/glass-collection.md) - [Minimalist Book Storage Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pocket-coffee-table.md) - [Striking Limited-Edition Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/limitededition-coffee-table.md) - [Creature-Like Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/octopus-center-table.md)
