# Sitting Ceiling Lamps The Vessel P Can be Set Upon a Table or Suspended Within the Room By Amelia Roblin | Published 2013-10-09 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vessel-p References: [betterlivingthroughdesign](http://www.betterlivingthroughdesign.com/accessories/smoked-grey-table-vessel-light/) & [decodelondon](http://www.decodelondon.com/products-page/lighting/vessel/) Quite often, the only time you'll see a bare lightbulb displayed is when it's hanging from the ceiling, but here we have Vessel P, as a design that places it directly on top of the table beside you. This chic lighting fixture by [Decode London](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nanchang-oct) celebrates the beauty of the Plumen 001 light globe, in combination with a gorgeous glass shade. The elegant luminescent loops are encased in [open blown glass covers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/big-glow-light) that seem to have taken inspiration from the iconic idea of the ship in a bottle. The delicately tinted shells have round holes in their bases, in some cases centered and in others, slanted. These enable the Vessel P to be pulled down from its pendant lamp position and set up as a [mod table lamp](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aplat). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.1/10 - Popularity: 14% | Activity: 10% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Table-top Lamps:** The trend of table-top lamps presents an opportunity for lighting companies to create innovative and elegant designs that can serve both as table lamps and pendant lamps. - **Open-blown Glass:** The trend of open-blown glass shades presents an opportunity for glassware companies to create modern and sophisticated designs that enhance other products. - **Modular Lighting Design:** The trend of modular lighting design presents an opportunity for design companies to incorporate the versatility of table-top and pendant lamps in multifunctional living arrangements. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Lighting:** Lighting companies can capitalize on the trend of table-top lamps by introducing innovative and energy-efficient designs that enhance the overall aesthetic of the space. - **Glassware:** Glassware companies can capitalize on the trend of open-blown glass shades by incorporating modern designs into their product lines and partnering with lighting companies for unique collaborations. - **Design:** Design companies can capitalize on the trend of modular lighting design by incorporating flexible and versatile lighting solutions into their product offerings to meet evolving customer needs and lifestyles. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Dimmable Structural Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mantle.md) - [Whimsical Glass Bubbled Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/peeka.md) - [Hanging Lantern-Like Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/woodo-table-lamp.md) - [Horizontal Glass Sphere Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/comet-pendant.md) - [Reversible Glass Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jal.md) - [Elegant Axis-Mounted Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pendulum-lamp.md) - [Powered Pendant Illuminations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/avro-pendant.md) - [Portable Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/parcel-portable-lamp.md) - [Hollow Candle-Like Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lampe.md)
