This design would entail growing your own crops inside your apartment or home. Tell me more, Mr. Dressmann. The Vertical Garden would place plants behind a double glass facade. The [plants would be watered](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tendril-1) and you could harvest them when they're ready. This would help to make homes more self-sustainable. I still don't trust the system, but I trust that the Vertical Garden is an awesome idea that needs to be put into action. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.8/10 - Popularity: 88% | Activity: 79% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 10% men, 90% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Vertical Farming:** The concept of growing crops within a vertical space can revolutionize agriculture and create more self-sustainable homes. - **Urban Agriculture:** Bringing the garden into the city opens up opportunities for people living in small apartments to grow their own food supply. - **Sustainable Living:** The Vertical Garden concept can encourage and promote sustainable living practices for city dwellers. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Real Estate:** Developers and architects could revolutionize urban living by incorporating vertical gardens into residential and commercial buildings. - **Agriculture:** The Vertical Garden concept can create new opportunities for urban agriculture and localized food production. - **Home Improvement:** Home improvement stores and suppliers can market and distribute materials and components for building and maintaining Vertical Gardens. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Mini Mess-Free Garden Units](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hydroponics-garden.md) - [Furniture-Inspired Indoor Gardens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/indoor-garden-system.md) - [Gardening Furniture Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/verda-garden.md) - [Minimalist Indoor Gardening Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/balconyfarm-pot.md) - [Wall-Mounted Hydroponic Gardens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hydroartpod.md) - [Smart Indoor Hydroponics Gardens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-modular-indoor-hydroponics-garden-grow-vegetables-and-herbs-automatic.md) - [Building Block Gardening Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-planterior.md) - [Portable Minimal Smart Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/balconyfarm-planter.md) - [In-House Gardening Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/at-home-gardening.md)
