With over 1.2 million scorpion stings annually worldwide, venom removal strategies play a key role in saving the lives of humans in these unfortunate situations. Researchers at the Hassan II University of Casablanca have created a new method of [extracting venom](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/super-serums) which is automated. The work for this project began in 2017, and the team filed a patent for the device in 2022.

The device works by using a network of conveyors and a central unit that uses electrical discharges that are adjustable based on the specific species of scorpion. The venom is then collected through pneumatic vibrations and contained in a filling station.
