Flat-pack furniture company [IKEA](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ikea-4) recently rolled out the veggie hot dog — an attempt that promises to embrace sustainability and a health-focused attitude. The multidisciplinary approach of the company has always baffled many and its offerings — from furniture to food, keep getting better. In September, the megastore rolled out a new item for its [Bistro](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bistro-baguette) food menu and that is the veggie hot dog. Promising to be a healthier alternative than the original, the creation features plant-based ingredients. This includes kale, red lentils, ginger, and carrots. Furthermore, IKEA reports that the preparation of the veggie hot dog boasts “a CO2eq emission/kg that is approximately 7 times less than [its predecessor].”

With a focus on sustainability, affordability, and flavor, IKEA’s relentless experimentation with its offerings is keeping the company on the cutting-edge of business.
