# Rural Medical Delivery Drones Vayu Drones Bring Medical Technology and Tools to Isolated Areas By Joey Haar | Published 2016-08-11 | Social Good Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vayu-drones References: [digitaltrends](http://www.digitaltrends.com/cool-tech/drones-healthcare-madagascar/?utm_source=feedly&utm_medium=webfeeds) & [vayu.us](http://www.vayu.us/) Vayu drones are a healthcare system that could potentially expand the reach of modern medicine. Inhabitants of isolated rural communities have trouble receiving the same medical care that people in more urban areas receive, simply due to the fact that a lack of roads makes transit into and out of the area expensive and time-consuming. With Vayu drones, bringing advanced, illness-specific medical technologies to rural communities is no longer barred by roads or ground transit of any sort. The drones are far larger than hobby drones in order to carry enough medicine across vast distances. Nonetheless, the technology of the drone itself is not much different than the [unmanned aerial vehicles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/unmanned-aircrafts) available on the market. Currently, Vayu drones have been used to deliver healthcare technology to rural areas of Madagascar. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.2/10 - Popularity: 17% | Activity: 42% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Alpha, Gen X - Top markets: Africa ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Social Good](https://www.trendhunter.com/socialgood) > [Social Business](https://www.trendhunter.com/socialbusiness) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Medical Delivery Drones:** Medical delivery drones can revolutionize rural healthcare by providing quick and efficient access to medicine and medical technology. - **Remote Healthcare Solutions:** With medical delivery drones, healthcare organizations can provide services and care to remote and hard-to-reach areas. - **Drone Adoption in Healthcare:** The use of drones in healthcare is a growing trend and will drive the development of new technology and innovation in the industry. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Healthcare Industry:** The healthcare industry can leverage medical delivery drones to reach and treat patients in remote and underserved areas. - **Drone Industry:** Medical delivery drones present opportunities for the drone industry to develop and market specialized equipment for healthcare purposes. - **Logistics and Transportation Industry:** The logistics industry can benefit from medical delivery drones by developing new delivery models and expanding into the healthcare sector. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Drone-Powered Medical Supply Deliveries](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/medical-supply-deliveries.md) - [Medication Delivery Drones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/amazon-pharmacy-1.md) - [Blade-Free First Responder Drones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ems-drone.md) - [Bladeless Rescue Drones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vita-bladeless.md) - [Intercity Cargo Delivery Drones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dji-express.md) - [Autonomous VTOL Cargo Drones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vtol-cargo-drone.md) - [Self-Steering Delivery Drones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/platform-2.md) - [Temperature-Resistant Delivery Drones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/temperatureresistant-delivery-drones.md) - [Logistical Heavy-Duty Delivery Drones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dji-flycart-100.md)
