# Playful Splaying Stem Holders Vase Y Offers a Binary Alternative to Bouquet Arrangement By Amelia Roblin | Published 2013-01-22 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vase-y-by-dongsung-jung References: [plusmood](http://plusmood.com/2013/01/vase-y-dongsung-jung/) & [jungdongsung](http://www.jungdongsung.com/) With Vase Y by Dongsung Jung, you don't actually have to worry about "arranging" your flowers as such. The quirky-looking container incorporates just a pair of [tiny tubes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kinetic-vases) that accommodates one stem each and directs clusters of pretty petals to one side or the other. The base of the peculiar piece resembles a test tube with its long and slender shape and its [transparent glass materiality](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/navazi). At the rim, this component connects to a wonderfully colorful V-shaped attachment that seems to mimic a segment of a thick off-shooting stalk. To put it to use, flower stems are inserted and encouraged to bend within Vase Y by Dongsung Jung. The unstable object can be mounted with a bracket on the wall and the water level can be clearly monitored. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.1/10 - Popularity: 21% | Activity: 3% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Minimalist Flower Arrangements:** Vase Y's single-stem holders offer a sleek and simplified alternative to traditional bouquet arrangement. - **Vertical Wall Planters:** Vase Y's wall-mounting bracket suggests an opportunity for a line of space-saving and decorative vertical planters. - **Multifunctional Glassware:** Vase Y's interactive design prompts innovation in more modular and adaptive glassware. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Home Decor:** Vase Y's playful and design-forward approach to floral display aligns with the aesthetic demands of the modern home decor industry. - **Sustainable Living:** Vase Y's minimalist and single-stem design reflects a growing trend towards more sustainable living and minimal waste in the home environment. - **Hospitality:** Vase Y's whimsical and non-traditional design has potential for use in boutique hotels and event spaces as unique, conversation-starting centerpieces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Personalized Floral Grid Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grid-vase.md) - [Copper Tubular Minimal Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hiroyuki-yuasa.md) - [Minimalist Illusory Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vaso-gota-vase.md) - [Miniature Cylindrical Flower Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hanakubari.md) - [Speaker-Equipped Flower Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blooming-product.md) - [Jewelry-Holding Flower Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mirror-vase-stand.md) - [Connection-Inspired X-Shaped Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vaax.md) - [Playful Packaging-Inspired Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/strawberry-milk-vase.md) - [Chandelier-Shaped Self-Watering Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/selfwatering-vase.md)
