Architect and artist Asif Khan created a new Vantablack-covered building for the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics in South Korea. The [temporary structure](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-descente) reaches 10 meters high and was spray-painted in Vantablack VBx2—a substance that can absorb over 99% of light. With small lights installed over the exterior, the designer wanted to create a building that looked like a [window into space](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moonhouse-project). The paint is so black that it is almost impossible for humans to perceive the shape of whatever object it coats.

Through the dark corridor, the interior will include a bright white contrasting space that has a [multi-sensory hydrophobic water installation](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/transmutation-observatory) with sensors that cause water droplets to fall and pool into a lake. Opening on February 9, the new Vantablack-covered building will be available for visitors to enter and explore.
