The Corso Zundert takes place in Zundert in the Netherlands. Started in 1936, it's a celebration of the region's history and continuing success as a global supplier of dahlias. This year, the parade's Van Gogh-inspired floats showcased another aspect of Zundert's historical significance: in 1853, Van Gogh was born in a small house on the city's main street. The Van Gogh-inspired floats, composed of thousands of dahlias, drew from the [post-impressionist painter's themes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/art-is-the-flower) and color palate, and even replicated his artwork, in particular one of his universally recognizable self portraits. This year's Van Gogh-inspired Corso Zundert celebrated the convergence of two of the Netherlands' major points of cultural repute: its flowers and its history as the birthplace of Van Gogh. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.2/10 - Popularity: 80% | Activity: 68% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [World](https://www.trendhunter.com/world) > [World News](https://www.trendhunter.com/worldnews) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Dahlia Flower Art:** Opportunity for artists to explore using dahlias as a unique artistic medium. - **Cultural Celebration Parades:** Innovative approaches to cultural parades by incorporating art and history into floats. - **Art Inspired by Historical Figures:** Creating art that is inspired by famous historical figures and their contributions. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Floriculture:** Flower growers can explore new opportunities by promoting dahlias as an art medium. - **Tourism:** Tourism industry can leverage cultural parades to attract visitors and showcase local history and art. - **Art and Craft Supplies:** Art supply manufacturers can introduce products specifically designed for creating flower sculptures. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Artist Painting-Inspired Brick Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sunflowers-set.md) - [Colorfully Inflatable Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blowup-art-the-hague.md) - [Mirrored Flower Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/reflecting-diverseness.md) - [Artist-Inspired Flower Puzzle Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/belgiandesigner.md) - [Basketball-Themed Floral Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sunflower-vessel.md) - [3D-Printed Colorful Vessels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/olivier-van-herpt-1.md) - [Flower-Centric Events](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/macys-flower-show.md) - [Floral-Imbued Fashion Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flowers-of-yves-saint-laurent.md) - [Large-Scale Floral Mosaics](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/floral-mosaics.md)
