# Typewriter-Inspired DJ Equipment The Valentine Turntable is Inspired by the Valentine Typewriter By Michael Hines | Published 2012-01-27 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/valentine-turntable References: [tuvie](http://www.tuvie.com/valentine-turntable-by-elodie-delassus/) & [sketchfoliobyelo.blogspot](http://sketchfoliobyelo.blogspot.com/) Don't be fooled into thinking that the Valentine Turntable is some turntable designed in the shape of a heart. Elodie Delassus' design actually gets its name from the [Olivetti](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nothing-store) Valentine typewriter, not the greeting card company holiday. The Olivetti Valentine typewriter was famous for its self-storage capabilities and its bright-red coloring. The Valentine Turntable has both of these traits and then some. The turntable is compact and can be stored in a [small red case](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mixx-revival) no bigger than a side bag. The turntable also has built-in speakers, an audio jack and a USB port. The display has a touchscreen and while not explicitly mentioned, it's reasonable to believe that this device comes with WiFi or an included Ethernet port. The Valentine Turntable seems like it would be great for [beginning DJs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/korg) who want to see if they have what it takes to scratch with the best of them without having to spend a ton of money on equipment. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.5/10 - Popularity: 14% | Activity: 23% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Multimedia](https://www.trendhunter.com/multimedia) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Retro Inspired DJ Equipment:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create audio equipment that combines retro aesthetics with modern functionality. - **Compact and Portable Audio Devices:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop small, lightweight audio devices with built-in speakers and wireless connectivity for convenience on the go. - **Affordable DJ Equipment for Beginners:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Design cost-effective DJ equipment with user-friendly features to attract aspiring DJs. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Audio Equipment Manufacturing:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Incorporate sleek and retro design elements into audio equipment to attract a wider consumer base. - **Portable Electronics:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create compact and portable electronic devices that prioritize convenience and ease-of-use for consumers. - **Music and Entertainment:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop beginner-friendly DJ equipment to empower aspiring musicians and DJs to explore their creativity. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sculptural Modern Turntable Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/amuni-studio.md) - [Vertical Vinyl Players](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vs01-bluetooth-vertical-turntable.md) - [CHD-Awareness Music Turntables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chd4.md) - [Retro-Modern Turntable Units](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vertical-turntable-concept.md) - [Wireless Contemporary Turntables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stream-carbon.md) - [Revamped Portable Turntables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/audio-technica.md) - [Architecture-Inspired Turntables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rytm-1.md) - [Millennium-Inspired Turntables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gadhouse-cosmo-solar-edition.md) - [All-in-One Turntable Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/victrola-soundstage.md)
