# Cantilevered Wooden Cabins Utriai Residence Holds an Impossible Position Lifted Up from the Lawn By Amelia Roblin | Published 2012-07-14 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/utriai-residence References: [beautifullife.info](http://www.beautifullife.info/urban-design/creative-utriai-residence/) & [natkevicius.lt](http://www.natkevicius.lt/en/projects/family-house-in-utriai.html?filter=0&subFilter=) It would be wonderful to behold the Utriai Residence on-site, for the fantastic feat of engineering that it accomplishes would be all the more breathtaking in three dimensions. This single-family home is so unlike any other you would stumble across, striving to exercise acrobatics while affording the comforts of domestic life. The split priority of this project is spatially represented in the gap between the grass and the base of the floating structure. G. Natkevicius & Partners aimed to make this Lithuanian dwelling so much more than a cozy rural abode. Impressive anchoring in the foundation of the house allows one long end of it to rise up, seemingly unsupported, towards the sky. Even with its ambitious form, the Utriai Residence provides a contemporary practicalities in its modern industrial interiors. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.9/10 - Popularity: 99% | Activity: 99% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/architecture) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Cantilevered Architecture:** Explore the trend of architectural structures that defy gravity and create unique visual experiences. - **Engineering Innovations:** Discover the trend of pushing the boundaries of engineering to create seemingly impossible structures. - **Contemporary Rural Design:** Witness the trend of blending modern design with rural aesthetics to create innovative living spaces. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Architecture:** Architects can take advantage of cantilevered designs to create visually striking and functional buildings. - **Engineering:** Engineers have an opportunity to explore new techniques and materials to support and elevate structures. - **Real Estate:** Real estate developers can capitalize on the demand for unique and innovative living spaces that combine modern and rural design elements. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Forest-Treetop Retreats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/more-cabin.md) - [Modular Wooden Holiday Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/piil.md) - [Elevated Forest Cabins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/columbia-river-valley-lookout.md) - [Angular Black Cantilevered Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tallowwood-cabin.md) - [Elevated Treetop Modern Cabins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/buitenverblijf-nest.md) - [Contemporary Cantilevered Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/westview-residence.md) - [Stilts-Reading Suspended Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-hole-with-the-house-around.md) - [Floating Courtyard Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/baan-oo.md) - [Cantilevered Mountain Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brutal-honesty.md)
