The Finnish man lost a middle finger in a motorcycling accident, and decided to embed a 2 GB memory drive into his prosthetic. The prosthetic finger end is detachable, but his new “fingernail” is as functional as they come. Just in case you were wondering, yes, Jerry is already planning on upgrading his finger technology as soon as possible. The best part is that he got the idea from his doctor who made a creative joke after surgery. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.3/10 - Popularity: 41% | Activity: 50% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Embedded Technology:** Opportunity for integrating technology into prosthetics to enhance functionality. - **Prosthetic Innovations:** Opportunity to develop advanced prosthetics with unique features and capabilities. - **Body Hacking:** Opportunity for individuals to modify their bodies with functional technologies. ### Where This Applies - **Medical Devices:** Disruptive innovation potential in developing prosthetics with embedded technology. - **Technology Gadgets:** Opportunity to create innovative gadgets that can be embedded into prosthetics. - **Personal Enhancement:** Emerging industry focused on body modification and functional enhancements. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Icon-Shaped USB Drives](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folderdrive.md) - [Laptop-Fitted USB Stick Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/saint-antoine.md) - [Wearable Ring-Inspired Peripherals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-ring-mouse.md) - [Reversible Robotic Hands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/reversible-robotic-hand.md) - [Remote Presentation Mouses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wearable-finger-mouse.md) - [Dedicated Encryption Storage Keys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lexar-jumpdrive-fingerprint-f35-pro.md) - [AI-Powered Prosthetic Arms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-prosthetic-arm.md) - [Bird-Shaped USB Flash Drives](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pinge.md) - [Wearable Desktop Control Peripherals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/prolo-ring.md)
