Featuring a skeletal design that only consists of a frame for holding a [waste bag](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tronco) in place, the unit can use brightly colored bags to stand out in an urban area to ensure that refuse doesn't get haphazardly littered. The waste bin also boasts a design that doesn't require extensive cleaning or maintenance to ensure staff can simply remove the bag when it's full to freshen up the unit. The 'Urnus-14' garbage can identifies the need for more design-conscious solutions for cities as urban areas continue to grow and expand. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.1/10 - Popularity: 42% | Activity: 13% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Design-conscious Urban Waste Solutions:** The minimalist 'Urnus-14' garbage can taps into the need for more aesthetically pleasing waste bins in urban areas. - **Efficient and Low-maintenance Waste Management:** The skeletal design of the 'Urnus-14' presents a disruptive innovation opportunity to streamline waste collection and reduce cleaning and maintenance efforts. - **Color-coded Waste Disposal Systems:** The use of brightly colored bags in the 'Urnus-14' highlights the potential for visually distinguishing waste bins in crowded urban areas, preventing littering. ### Who This Affects Most - **Urban Design and Infrastructure:** The minimalist urban waste bin trend opens up opportunities for urban designers and city planners to enhance the functionality and aesthetics of waste management systems. - **Facilities Management:** The low-maintenance and efficient design of the 'Urnus-14' presents opportunities for facilities management companies to streamline waste collection and reduce cleaning efforts. - **Environmental Services:** The growing demand for design-conscious waste solutions creates a market for environmental service providers to offer innovative and visually appealing waste management systems to urban areas. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Tipping Trash Can Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/niko-trash-bin.md) - [Rodent-Preventative Trash Bins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/group-project.md) - [Customizable Garbage Cans](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/totem-compact-unit.md) - [Modular Organization Garbage Bins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kitchen-garbage-bins.md) - [Automated Anti-Odor Trash Cans](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zita-square.md) - [Modular Trash Organization Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sortmate-trash-cans.md) - [Sustainably Constructed Garbage Cans](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rubbish-bin.md) - [Adorable Public Rubbish Bins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/design-seoul-20.md) - [Automated Self-Sealing Litter Boxes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/furbulous-box.md)
