# Anatomy-Inspired Home Decor Urinary Tract Wallpaper By Cowbag | Published 2008-09-18 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/urinary-tract-wallpaper-medical-interior-design References: [streetanatomy](http://streetanatomy.com/blog/) & [shannonwright.org](http://www.shannonwright.org) Wallpaper Number One (2006) by Shannon Wright takes an obsession with the anatomy to new heights. I would love to have some, but if I did I know I would hate it. It would always guarantee a talking point, however. The urinary tract wallpaper does have a very retro feel so maybe from afar you would not immediately realize what it is. If you half close your eyes and squint, it also looks like flowers. **Implications** - Now, I'll be a first to admit: this is more than a little odd. But Shannon Wright's display of healthy human urinary tracts is comedic, and a fitting tribute to a friend who suggested Wright make art that is about his hypochondria. Mission complete. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.3/10 - Popularity: 6% | Activity: 54% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Anatomy-inspired Home Decor:** Unconventional designs based on anatomical features and systems are gaining popularity as conversation starters in home decor. - **Medically-themed Wallpaper:** Wallpaper featuring anatomical imagery, like urinary tracts or other biological structures, is a new and unique way to decorate homes and spark interesting discussions. - **Subversive Home Design:** Homeowners are seeking visually shocking home decor that challenges traditional decor norms and pushes boundaries with unusual designs like urine tract wallpaper. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Home Decor:** Manufacturers and designers of home decor products like wallpaper, textiles, and furniture can explore anatomically-inspired designs and imagery to meet the demand for unconventional home decor. - **Art:** Artists can experiment with unusual and boundary-pushing themes, like anatomy-inspired designs, to create unique pieces for home decor and galleries. - **Healthcare:** Healthcare providers can use anatomy-inspired designs and imagery to promote health education and engage patients in conversations about the human body. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Anti-Splashing Bathroom Fixtures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modern-urinal-design.md) - [Tubed Immersive Organ-Like Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/organlike-installation.md) - [Artfully Sculptured Textured Toilets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-formation-02.md) - [Toilet Tablet Health Tests](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/urify1.md) - [Human Physio-Themed Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dif-lamp.md) - [Medical Equipment-Inspired Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pond-lamp.md) - [Light-Filled Public Restrooms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vivid-toilet-interior.md) - [Artist-Approved Intricate Wallpaper Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/printed-decors.md) - [Unusual Home Decor](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ceramic-brown-paper-bag-vase.md)
