The [light installation](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/suspended-lighting-installation) works by being positioned over a large area and using [UVC 222 light](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ladislamp-disinfection) that is specially tested to neutralize 99.9% of all viruses in mere minutes. This would enable people to meet up to socialize and feel confident that they could be doing so safely. The 'Urban Sun' maintains a somewhat otherworldly design that would truly come in hand during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic as a way for citizens to maintain their socialization as they spend extended periods not gathering in close quarters. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.4/10 - Popularity: 89% | Activity: 94% | Freshness: 9% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Health](https://www.trendhunter.com/health) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **UV Light Disinfection:** The use of UVC 222 light for disinfecting public spaces opens up opportunities for businesses to create innovative UV light products for various industries. - **Socializing in Safety:** The need for safe socialization during the pandemic presents an opportunity for businesses to create innovative solutions that enable people to gather in public spaces while minimizing health risks. - **Futuristic Public Installations:** The design of the 'Urban Sun' provides inspiration for businesses to create innovative and visually striking public installations that serve a utilitarian purpose. ### Where This Applies - **Hospitality Industry:** The use of UV light disinfection technology presents an opportunity for hotels and restaurants to improve safety and sanitation in public areas. - **Entertainment Industry:** The need for safe socialization during the pandemic presents an opportunity for venues like concert halls and movie theaters to implement innovative solutions that minimize health risks for patrons. - **Public Health Industry:** The use of UVC 222 light for disinfecting public spaces presents an opportunity for businesses to create innovative and affordable solutions for public health initiatives. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Workstation-Sanitizing Task Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-desk-light.md) - [Convenient Home Sanitation Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/home-sanitation-device.md) - [Artistic Public Air Sterilizers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/venue-smart-commercial-air-sanitisation-device.md) - [Workstation-Sanitizing Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tolomeo-lamp.md) - [Touchless Disinfection Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/uvc-led-disinfection-light.md) - [Portable UVC Air Disinfectors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nuvo.md) - [Powerful UV Sanitation Wands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/uv-sanitizer-wand.md) - [Drone-Equipped Air Purifiers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ultro-air-purification-system.md) - [AI-Powered Disinfectant Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/uvceed.md)
