# USB Turntables Urban Outfitters Brings the LP Back By Going Like Sixty | Published 2008-06-29 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/urban-outfitters-usb-turntable References: [betterlivingthroughdesign](http://www.betterlivingthroughdesign.com/2008/06/usb_turntable.html) & [urbanoutfitters](http://www.urbanoutfitters.com/urban/catalog/productdetail.jspjsessionid=3BD165DBA054CCFFB9263BA0A49B02A0.app12-node6?itemdescription=true&itemCount=60&id=11608544&parentid=A_ENT_MUSICCAMERAS&sortProperties=&navCount=1183&navAction=poppushpush&color=) Of all the hundreds of USB gizmos, this is my favorite. A plug and play USB turntable. I know I'm not the only one that has a few 45's and LP's in the back of the closet. I am? Well anyway. This turntable is compatible for Mac or PC. Belt drive with anti-skating! Anti-skating! There is a pre-amp and yes, a needle in a cartridge. I'm starting to wonder if this isn't a magnificent hoax product. It's just too fun. Pop on that obscure 45 and digitize it for your iPod. The sweetest? It's only $150 from Urban Outfitters. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.5/10 - Popularity: 37% | Activity: 59% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **USB Turntables:** The rise of USB turntables signifies the comeback of vinyl records and presents opportunities to create more innovative devices. - **Digitization of Vinyl Records:** The ability to convert vinyl records into digital format presents opportunities for companies to develop software and services that facilitate this process. - **Affordable Audio Devices:** The availability of affordable USB turntables presents opportunities for companies to develop audio devices that are accessible to the masses. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Consumer Electronics:** The rise of USB turntables presents opportunities for companies in the consumer electronics industry to create more inventive and user-friendly audio devices. - **Music Industry:** The digitization of vinyl records presents opportunities for the music industry to monetize and preserve their vast catalog of classic records. - **Software Development:** The digitization of vinyl records presents opportunities for companies to develop software that streamlines the process of converting vinyl records into digital format. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Revamped Portable Turntables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/audio-technica.md) - [Speaker-Integrated Vinyl Players](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/high-fidelity-belt-drive-turntable.md) - [Artistic Affordable Turntable Models](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/uturn-orbit.md) - [Style-Conscious Record Players](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/upright-vinyl-record-player.md) - [Pre-Adjusted Entry-Level Turntables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/project-e1-turntable.md) - [Retro-Modern Turntable Units](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vertical-turntable-concept.md) - [Bluetooth-Compatible Budget Turntables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/budget-turntables.md) - [Ultra-Modern Record Players](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modern-record-players.md) - [Record Label-Approved Turntables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mcintosh-mti100-integrated-turntable.md)
