Import.Export's Skyscraper-Like 'Urban Camping' Structure
Holger Mohr — June 27, 2009 — Lifestyle
This mobile multi-story structure is called 'Urban Camping,' and it's a creation by Belgian architects Import.Export. The steel structure allows camping in urban areas to take place even in relatively small spaces, with different levels onto which tents can be pitched.
Import.Export's 'Urban Camping' was installed in Antwerp in May, and in July, the structure will be placed in Copenhagen.
Implications - This unique innovation is an awesome and simple solution that many consumers have asked for. A lot of people like to camp, but many who live in cities don't always have the luxury or time to travel to remote areas to enjoy the fun in camping. Bringing the experience closer to home is what manufacturers should focus on for future products.
