# Upright Urban Bikes The 'Halfbike' by Kolelinia Offers a Compact Ride in Urban Environments By Jamie Danielle Munro | Published 2014-03-15 | Lifestyle Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/urban-bikes References: [designboom](http://www.designboom.com/design/compact-halfbike-by-kolelinia-brings-joy-back-to-urban-mobility-03-14-2014/) & [vimeo](http://vimeo.com/89005800) Even though many urban bikes are lightweight these days, they are still not easily foldable. When travelling throughout a city, having a bike that can be taken on an elevator or walked up a set of stairs is helpful, and the Halfbike by Kolelinia aims to offer this type of product to consumers. The Halfbike is [foldable and lightweight](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/velotric-fold-1), and is ridden in a more upright position. The aluminum frame ensures users won't be burdened with a heavy load, and even though one is more in an upright position when riding, the pedals are still used in the same manner as a normal bike. Urbanites are well aware of how using a bike for transportation can cut down on costs (and even get you to a place faster when traffic is bad). These urban bikes by Kolelinia are a great way to update one's current ride.
