The 'Uppie' toilet seat is the design work of Jan S. van Ackeren and shows promise for seniors, adults or even children who have trouble getting off of the toilet. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.1/10 - Popularity: 49% | Activity: 37% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Life-Stages](https://www.trendhunter.com/life-stages) > [Seniors](https://www.trendhunter.com/seniors) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Assistive Toilets for Seniors:** The development of specially designed toilets for seniors with mobility issues presents an opportunity for companies to cater to a growing demographic with unique needs. - **Personalized Mobility Solutions:** Businesses can offer customized solutions for seniors who require assistance with mobility, such as assistive toilet seats, in order to help them maintain their independence. - **Technology-assisted Elderly Care:** Innovative devices such as 'Uppie' toilet seats demonstrate the potential for technology to improve quality of life for senior citizens with mobility challenges. ### Where This Applies - **Healthcare:** Healthcare providers could incorporate technology-assisted solutions for independent living into their service offerings in order to meet the increasing demand for in-home care services. - **E-commerce:** Companies in the e-commerce industry can expand their reach by offering assistive devices like 'Uppie' toilet seats through online marketplaces, providing greater accessibility to seniors and their families. - **Home Improvement:** Home improvement retailers and contractors can target seniors and disabled individuals as a demographic with unique needs by offering specialized products such as assistive toilet seats and related installation services. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Elderly Extended Arm Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/troi-chair.md) - [Safety Centric Armchair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lotte-armchair.md) - [Senior Bowel Tracking Toilets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-legacy-senior-communities.md) - [Upright Wheelchair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kime-wheelchair.md) - [Automated Maintenance Toilet Seats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/icleaningo-bidet-toilet-seat-dc02.md) - [Feature-Packed Smart Toilets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/neolet.md) - [Robotic Personal Lifts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/niko.md) - [Demurely Designed Mobility Aids](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folding-rollator-concept.md) - [Accessible Bathware Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/care-collection-accessible.md)
