# Stylish Glass Kettles The Upon Teapot by Nikolo Kerimov is Inspired by Mountains and Clouds By Meghan Young | Published 2014-05-02 | Lifestyle Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/upon-teapot References: [behance.net](https://www.behance.net/gallery/13558193/UPON-teapot) & [nikolokerimov](http://nikolokerimov.com/) Tea time is a ritual in various parts of the world, but that doesn't mean it focuses on the beauty of the tools used, that is, unless the Upon Teapot replaced more traditional kettles. Instead of focusing on the motions of the ritual itself, tea drinkers will find themselves enamored by the transparent vessel that holds their hot beverage. Since the Upon Teapot is inspired by nature, this doesn't take away from the serene experience. Designed by Nikolo Kerimov, an industrial designer based in Finland, the Upon Teapot was specifically influenced by mountainous landscapes the teas are harvested from as well as the clouds that "almost seem like made of tea/rain tea," as written on its Behance page. It is finished with a cork lid and platter. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.8/10 - Popularity: 48% | Activity: 27% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Drinking](https://www.trendhunter.com/drinking) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Transparent Kitchens:** As transparent vessels become more popular in dining settings, innovative designers will develop more see-through kitchen tools. - **Nature-inspired Design:** As the Upon Teapot gains popularity, product designers will seek to incorporate nature-inspired aesthetics in more household items. - **Multi-functional Dining Tools:** As the Upon Teapot combines form and function, designers and innovators will seek to create more multi-functional dining items that are aesthetically pleasing and practical. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Kitchenware:** The kitchenware industry has the opportunity to explore more transparent and aesthetic designs for tea and coffee making tools. - **Industrial Design:** As the Upon Teapot showcases the beauty of nature-inspired design, the field of industrial design can incorporate more nature-inspired aesthetic into other household and everyday items. - **Hospitality:** As dining becomes more experiential, the hospitality industry can experiment with unique and aesthetically pleasing dining tools to enhance the dining experience. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Surrealist-Inspired Tea Pots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tea-for-two-collection.md) - [Stacked Tea Kettle Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stacked-tea-kettle.md) - [Playful Teapot Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/teapot-design1.md) - [Relaxing Countertop Tea Brewers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-tea-maker.md) - [Automated Extraction Teapots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/reedesigned-teapot.md) - [Customizable Connected Tea Makers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/connected-tea-pot.md) - [Minimal Metallic Stealthy Kettles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aarke-kettle.md) - [Timeless Teakettle Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/timeless-teakettle.md) - [Minimalist Designer Kitchen Kettles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/usm-kettle.md)
