The 'Up On the Roof' collection by Alex McLean gives the upper-side of New York a whole new meaning by capturing the [rooftop furnishings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ls24-lounge-system) of one of the most stylish city's urban dwellers.

From displaying stately landmarks like the roof of the Rockefeller Center to more overhead shots of quaint areas in [Little Italy](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/public-gardens), McLean illuminates a part of New York the regular tourist would never pass by. It is interesting to see how different terraces reflect the personality of the building they rest atop of.

With a jungle of a metropolis at ground level, [New York City's sky-high spaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/full-bloom-installation) do not disappoint, often sporting minimalist design to make up for the busy scrawl below, or lush decorations, compensating for the overwhelming lack of greenery everywhere else.
