The revolutionary rotating wall unit is designed to keep your books safely stowed, while remaining within arms' reach . The UnWaste Bookcase is a collaborative design between architect Ben Milbourne, furniture specialist David Waterworth and eco-designer Leyla Acaroglu. The Bond-like design bears homeowners the flexibility of transforming a space's function even when square-footage is tight. The rotatable racks also provide increased air circulation between the two rooms. In addition, the group sought to use sustainable materials to minimize waste and reduce their environmental impact. The UnWaste Bookcase is a cleverly disguised unit that can be tailored to the home's needs. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.9/10 - Popularity: 69% | Activity: 70% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Rotating Furniture:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation includes the development of versatile rotating furniture pieces that optimize space and provide flexibility in interior design. - **Sustainable Design:** There is a growing demand for eco-friendly furniture that utilizes sustainable materials and minimizes waste, presenting an opportunity for disruptive innovation in the furniture industry. - **Space Optimization:** The need for space optimization in compact living environments creates an opportunity for disruptive innovation in the development of multifunctional furniture solutions, such as the UnWaste Bookcase. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Disruptive innovation can be explored in the furniture manufacturing industry by developing innovative rotating furniture designs that cater to the need for space optimization and flexibility in interior design. - **Interior Design:** The UnWaste Bookcase represents a disruptive innovation opportunity in the interior design industry, where multifunctional furniture pieces can enhance space utilization and transform the functionality of living spaces. - **Sustainable Materials:** There is an opportunity for disruptive innovation in industries focused on sustainable materials, as the demand for eco-friendly furniture increases and pushes for the development of innovative solutions that minimize waste and reduce environmental impact. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Book-Storing Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bookgroove-bookrack.md) - [Playful Rotating Cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/giralot-rotating-storage.md) - [Expandable Bookcase Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/burrow-index-bookcase.md) - [Practical Rotating Wall Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/revolver-wallmounted-desk.md) - [Twisting Donut-Shaped Bookshelves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hullabaloo-bookshelf.md) - [Twisting CGI-Designed Sideboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bookscrew-sideboard.md) - [Sliding Wintery Landscape Bookshelves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/manhwabang-bookshelf.md) - [Video Game-Like Bookcases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tetris-bookcase.md) - [Bookcase-Equipped Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/low-wall-side-table.md)
