[Team Macho](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grownup-repair-kit) is a [Toronto artist collective](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/just-like-heaven-art-exhibition) that came back from a two-year sabbatical with a refreshed perspective on suspended animation art. The art pieces are all images of subverted narratives. The topics are unorthodox and in-your-face, presented in [small picture frames](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/frames-exhibition). What the viewer takes out of the images is as subjective as the images themselves. They address social issues, bad parenting, the paranormal and the human mind's complexity. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.0/10 - Popularity: 87% | Activity: 55% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Modern](https://www.trendhunter.com/modern) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Suspended Animation Art:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore the use of suspended animation art to challenge traditional artistic narratives and provoke thought-provoking discussions on social issues. - **Subverted Narratives:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create artworks that challenge traditional storytelling by presenting unorthodox and thought-provoking narratives, opening up new avenues for artistic expression. - **Subjective Interpretation:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop interactive art installations that allow viewers to actively engage with artworks and explore their subjective interpretations, fostering a deeper connection between art and audience. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Art Galleries:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Embrace subversive art exhibitions that challenge norms, attracting a wider audience and creating unique experiences that differentiate from traditional gallery offerings. - **Social Commentary:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Utilize visual storytelling and subversive art to address social issues, offering new platforms for dialogue and promoting positive societal change. - **Art Collective:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Collaborate with artists collectives to push the boundaries of artistic expression, creating impactful art that reflects the complexity of the human mind and challenges societal norms. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Dynamic Art Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/art-in-motion-exhibition.md) - [Apocalypse Post Pandemic Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/contemporary-urban-art.md) - [Perception-Challenging Art Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/becoming-familiar.md) - [Enigmatic Graffiti Incidents](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/enigmatic-graffiti.md) - [Striking Urban Wildlife Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clare-allin.md) - [Boundary-Pushing Art Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/briony-douglas-1.md) - [Neo-Mexican Art Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/para-morelio.md) - [Artful Activism Shows](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/snowflake-exhibition.md) - [Surreal Art Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jeffrey-deitch-art-gallery.md)
